The “Big Reveal”

It was party time last week at the Senior Experience (our senior H.S. branch of the biz) and with the help of a few good friends we put on an event for our 2010 models. Our models are the advocates for us in their high schools as they show off their images, talk about their “Senior Experience”, and brag about some of the cool products that we offer! Daevid’s Bridal Flowers hosted us as we transformed a room into a swanky club for the evening complete with the services of Arch Entertainment “DJ-ing”, Blue Steel Lighting providing killer lighting, and a delicious feast from East Beach Catering, Pike Media Resource provided video services and RSVP Stationery designed the custom invitations. Antonia Christianson Events designed and coordinated the event from start to finish as well with furnishings from Daevid’s , and Distinctive Event rentals. That’s a whole lotta people coming together for one thing – make this a memorable night for our senior models! Here’s a few shots from the evening and be on the look out for our senior models in your school since they will have discount coupons for you! We never thought of ourselves as “rockstars” but who am I to complain…I’ll go with it! We will be speaking at the nations largest photography convention in Nashville, January 10-12th, 2010. We are stoked beyond belief that the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) would leave us in charge of a room full of photographers for a few hours! Scary, I know. Anyway, they did a blurb on us in their blog and thought we’d send it your way. It’s so cool to be mentioned in the same sentence as some of our industry’s greats. Alexa’s Bat Mitzvah

Alexa and her friends put on the most incredible Bat Mitzvah this weekend and we had the honor of photographing it. It was a day full of family and fun for a “few” of Alexa’s friends and family! The Joy of Marketing Websummit

And now I digress….. For all my photographer friends you can now hear us and a whole bunch of other awesome photographers as we dish out some serious marketing mojo! We are proud to have been asked to present a webinar beginning today (December 14th) through the end of the year about our marketing strategies and how we do what we do. We are really excited to present this FREE event for a limited time. Please check it out because it took us 6 hours to record our 30 minute session which means….lots of outtakes and goof ups! It was a lot of fun though for Adina and I to just chat about what we love – and laugh along the way.

For all our blog stalkers – our outtakes reel. (I will regret this I am sure.)

I don’t think there is a better way to celebrate than with an event thrown by Antonia Christianson Events on a Friday night! Throw in some inspiring stories from breast cancer survivors, dancing, mermaids, live music and of course martini’s and you’ve got a memorable night! We had a blast photographing everyone in our photobooth as well as the events all through the Half Moone Cruise terminal. Here’s a few shots from the evening:

No Rules Workshop!

Did I mention that we are on world tour? Yeah, we’re selling t-shirts and everything. We started with a baby step though by having our kickoff “No Rules Workshop” in Paris….er, Danville, VA. The fabulous Lisa Carter of Photography by Lisa hosted about 30 photographers and we thoroughly trashed the place with our models Kate & Alan (who’s wedding we’ll be shooting in October!). But seriously, thanks for your hospitality and generosity! Radiopoppers were available for all to experiment with and Mother nature cooperated nicely by providing a flaming sunset. Our workshop focuses on expanding your ideas of what can be a great photograph and we really encourage folks to think in unique ways both in their photography and their business practices. We saw lots of people having “ah-ha” moments! Here’s a few shots from the day and you can see a few more on our workshop site Norulesworkshop.com. Cheers!

“Ladies Night” – A Facebook Profile Picture Night!

The days of having a camera phone pic as your Facebook profile pic are numbered. We just had our first annual “Ladies Night”at our studio where we had some of our Facebook friends over for a fresh profile pic in our studio. What? You missed it? Oh well. Just take another camera phone image and weep. But wait! All hope is not lost! Round two will be on June 2nd so mark your calendars. Our makeup artist will be on hand along with chair massages (long line for that!), our hair artist and we’ll break out the chocolate fountain again.

Look for more details as the day draws closer and bring your friends because even if you happen to have a rockin’ Facebook pic (which you don’t – unless I took it!) you can still drop by for the chocolate and conversations! And you’ll get a kick out of everyone trying to look glam…that’s worth the trip alone. Here’s a few shots of the gang -

Say that fast 3 times…. ( I hear you all trying.) On Sunday we were thrilled to hang out at the Renaissance hotel and photograph a mock wedding as a few hundred folks ooh’d and aah’d while the areas top wedding vendors showed off their stuff. We photographed the short 7-minute ceremony portion of the event and I was able to speak briefly to the guests watching the show. Afterward, we were able to chat with future brides and show them a few of our latest images. It is always a thrill to show off your stuff and we really give a big high-five to the crew over at Weddings by Michelle who put on this fabulous show! We can’t wait for I Do 2010!
