We couldn’t do what we do without a lot of help from so many people but at the top of that list would be the folks at H&H Colorlab. They do the incredible job of printing all of our images in such cool and innovative ways! Having the comfort knowing that every image that I send to them is going to get printed perfectly and fast really allows me to focus on one thing – images that rock. We have met a few of the H&H team over the past year or so but we winged our way out to Kansas City to meet the rest of the crew and we were blown away by their sincerity, craftsmanship and friendliness. Honestly I expected to see giant machines belching steam and ink as someone mindlessly pulled levers to stomp out albums and prints. I was quite impressed when it was a guy named Mark that assembled my album….by hand (and he didn’t even belch). Two pretty girls color correcting images – one by one. Go figure. Thanks for allowing us to check out your fine facility and most importantly meet all of you! Here’s a few shots of H&H at work!

Huh? Sorry guys a bit of photospeak in this post but it’s a big deal to us! We have recently been sponsored by Radiopopper as we begin our 2009 workshop and seminar tour. That’s just sick if you ask me because they are the coolest bunch of guys that make the most killer piece of gear…and they want our images to show what their gadget can do! Radiopoppers have changed the way I shoot and have really allowed me to define my style and signature look. For the laymen out there it is basically a trigger for my flashes….on steroids. Anyway, our images are featured on their tradeshow display in a massive kind of way. My thanks goes out to the totally rockin’ people in the images – Kelsey, Kate, Adina (&me!), Jon & Melissa, Isaac & Julie, and the Colvin family for letting me do my thing!

Life without e-mail

It never occurs to you how much e-mail is a part of our lives. Well, this week we found that out! Our e-mail has been down since Friday as we transferred our website to a new server. Talk about an aggravating weekend! So, if you attempted to send us and e-mail this weekend (oct 31-Nov 2) and had it kicked back or received no response – we are still alive. Give it shot again and we’ll promise to holla back!

Dave Alegre from Visionary Pro put together a most amazing video from our recent Trash the Dress shoot. It’s weird seeing yourself doing your “thang” but this video makes me look way cooler than I am. Or not. My wife has a few cameos throughout along with being my lighting roadie – couldn’t do it without her. Hunter is in a few shots as well 2nd shooting and occasionally showing up Dad (me) with a few shots that make me say “whaaa? Where was I?”. A BIG thank you to Rachel and Brian for getting dirty and wet during this shoot they were real troopers. Here’s a bit ‘o fun behind the scenes! (and yes it really is just as fun as it looks.) What a sweet gig I have!

We’re in Vegas, Baby!

What happens in Vegas stays in………my blog! This week we are in Las Vegas WORKING (no, really…we are – honest!) and attending the WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) convention. Lots of vendors and some great speakers. It will be a week packed full of inspirational speakers and meeting with some vendors since we are always looking for cool products. We did take some time yesterday for a photoshoot with a few models provided by H&H color lab. It was an amazing shoot with a beautiful environment along with some gorgeous models. The blue sky and bright sun made for some terrific shots. Check out some of these and hey, let me know what you guys think! We’re steppin’ it up in 2008!

Mac or PC? Is that even a proper question?

Okay, all of our clients know that we come to your wedding reception with our laptop to show your pictures of your preparation for your awesome day. We love our laptop however there was one huge draw back. The draw back is that it is a fairly new windows machine with Vista installed. Have you ever experienced Vista? Well watch this video and this will give you a quick glimpse at our frustration with it.

Alright, no kidding, I would be in the middle of your reception the security screen would constantly pop up and ask “cancel or allow”. CANCEL OR ALLOW?!?! I would think…I haven’t touched the computer. What could I possibly cancel or allow? After wearing my finger out “allowing” something that had already been allowed got old really quick! So this is what we decided:

Our P3 account with Pictage is now set up and in action! P3 is an easy processing system. Now clients can review and pay for their wedding photography packages online and it can be split up into payments! This can all be done with the click of a mouse pretty simple and super handy for the busy bride.

Check it out here at www.p3.pictage.com. Enter the studio id (sh094) and the password is sample.

Here you will see all the packages and options that we offer. Choose one that you would like to book.

Choose the event date, then you will see the payment schedule.

You can even choose upgrades to your albums!
